St. John is a place where you see wild donkeys, not thoroughbred race horses, roaming around the island. But the first Saturday of every May, the Kentucky Derby is celebrated in style. Island-style, of course, but style nonetheless!
So don your (bougainvillea-adorned) race day hat and head on out to Skinny Legs for the 140th “Run for the Roses.” Cheer on California Chrome, Wicked Strong, Intense Holiday, or whoever your favorite is.
Then, when it’s all over, look out to sea for more racing. The Commodore’s Cup continues through the weekend!
